Requirements for master's thesis structure
Master's thesis consists of an introductory and basic parts, and applications.
Introduction includes the following structural elements: the cover and title page and the task (see "Regulations on the organization of graduate design students and state certification KPI, 2006), abstract, contents, list of symbols, symbols, abbreviations and terms.
Abstract volume of 200 ... 500 words in Ukrainian and foreign languages should reflect the information presented in the thesis as follows:
- Information on workload, number of illustrations, tables, applications, the sources of the list of references;
- Object and subject of research, the purpose of work;
- Methods (methods) and research equipment;
- And the results of their novelty;
- Recommendations for the use of the work;
- Results of validation possibilities of practical use of the results;
- Suggestions for possible directions for continuing research;
- List of 5 ... 15 keywords (phrases) that are most significant for showing the work, printed in capital letters nominative in line through the point.
Content submitted to the next sheet after the abstract should include: an introduction, names of all sections, units, points (sub-titles if they are) the main part of the work, conclusions, recommendations, list of references, names of applications indicating the pages of these materials.
The list of symbols is the meaning of a new sheet and should include an explanation of all applicable in the little common nomenclature, symbols, abbreviations and terms.
In the introduction, beginning with a new page, is taught:
- Assessment of the current state of the problem based on analysis of domestic and foreign scientific (scientific and technical) literature and patent research indicating practically solve the problem, existing problems in this subject area, indicate the leading companies and leading scientists and specialists who are developing on this issue;
- Global trends solving tasks;
- Relevance of work;
- The goal of industry and application of results;
- Relationship with other academic works.
The main part of master thesis must present information about the object and subject of study necessary and sufficient to reveal the essence of this work. It focuses on the novelty of the work. Must be a certain level of scientific novelty of the results.
The main part should usually contain:
- Justification of the choice of theoretical and experimental methods of tasks;
- Development of research methods, the experimental equipment, experimental analysis of errors;
- Development of models of technical systems and processes examined in the paper;
- The problem of modeling, development of study assumptions and basic model analysis of the adequacy of the developed models;
- Development of algorithms and techniques for modeling;
- Formulation of theoretical and experimental research;
- Analysis of basic research (scientific and technical) results in terms of accuracy, scientific and practical value.
Each section of the main part has an opinion.
General conclusions are placed on a separate sheet. They have an assessment of the results and suggestions for their use. The text of conclusions can be subdivided into different items.
Based on these findings can be provided in the recommendations that appear on a new page. The recommendations for appropriate, the author believes that further research problems, submit suggestions for effective use of research results.
With the new worksheet is a list of references to literary sources, including undergraduate publications. Bibliographic descriptions cited in order of their mention in the text and in accordance with the standards of librarianship and publishing.
Before applications can be included:
- Additional illustrations or tables;
- Materials due to the volume or form submission can not be included into the main part (pictures, intermediate mathematical proofs, calculations, test reports, a copy of the technical tasks, work, contract, instructions, methods, description of the developed computer programs and others. );
- Description of new equipment and devices used during the experiment.
Design Policy master's thesis
Master's thesis to be completed typewritten or computer (mixed) method in accordance with current regulatory and technical documentation for execution of documents with print and graphic output devices computer.
Job drawn on sheets of A4 (210x297 mm), font size 14 points through 1,5 intervals the amount of no more than 40 lines per page. Field size: top, bottom and left - 20 mm, right - 10 mm.
Some words and formulas that fit into the printed text should be black and have close to the main text density. Proper names are given in the original (when first mentioned, - optional).
Structural elements: "Summary", "content", "Conclusions, recommendations, list of references is not numbered and their names are titles of structural elements.
Sections and subsections should have a heading. Paragraphs and subparagraphs may have titles.
Titles and sections of structural elements must be placed in the middle line and print in capital letters without periods at the end. Titles units and item should begin with a paragraph (5 marks). The distance between the header and the next or previous text should be at least two lines. You can not place heading into the bottom of the page if it is after only one line of text.
Sections, subsections, paragraphs and subparagraphs are numbered in Arabic numerals. The subsection includes the section number and serial number of the unit separated, for example, 1.1, 1.2, etc. Item number is the number of partitions, the unit (if applicable) and serial number of the item, separated by dots, etc..
Changes of numbered in Arabic numerals in the upper right corner of preserving all sequentially numbered text. The title page to include a numbering, but not put the page number.
Illustrations should be placed directly after the text where they appear for the first time, or on the next page. All artwork (own and borrowed) must be in reference work. All artwork submitted for protection, you must give in certifying body of work or in applications.
Drawings, pictures, graphs, charts, diagrams have to meet the regulatory and technical documentation. Illustrations should be numbered in Arabic numerals within a section are called the "Figure", which along with your artwork (if necessary) is placed under a picture, for example, "Figure 3.2 - Scheme of" (the second picture the third section).
Digital material is usually execute in the tables. The table should be placed directly after the text, in which he mentioned the first time, or on the next page. All tables should be in the text. Numbered as a table and figures. The word "Table" is placed to the left of the table.
Formulas and equations cited immediately after the text in which they appear in the middle row of boxes above and at least one line.
No formula or equation consists of a section number and serial number, separated. Number placed in parentheses at the end of the string formula.
Explanation of symbols and numerical coefficients of the formula should be given directly under the formula in the same order in which they are presented in the formula. The first line begin with a paragraph explaining the word "where" without the colon. Explanation of each character to start with a new line.
Links to sources in the text should indicate the serial number on a list of references from two brackets.
Firefox should be placed in order of appearance reference in the text. Each application must begin with the new page. Add the middle line indicates capital letters (A, B, C. .. ....). For example, "Annex A". Next, symmetrically to the text, title printed application. Firefox should be shared with another part of the continuous numbering of pages.
If necessary, the text of application can be divided into sections, subsections and paragraphs (eg H.4.1.3 - item 4.1.3 of Annex D). Illustrations, tables, formulas and equations should be numbered within each application (eg, Figure E.3, Table B.2 - the second formula in Appendix B, etc.).
